I have recurring dreams about a huge house that has stairways all over that make no sense as to where they go or why they were built there. In one particular dream there was a small girl sleeping in a bed and I didn't want to wake her for fear I would get into trouble for being in this house -Dawn 37

Lauri: Houses in dreams represent the self. The state of the house and what you find inside of the house can be very revealing about what is going on inside of you. The stairways that go all over the place are a good indication that you - in some sense - are all over the place. Are you feeling directionless, unsure of yourself and of what you want? The sleeping little girl is very important imagery!! She is your inner child, the part of you that wants to have fun and be care free... this part of you may be lying dormant. Your dream is telling you that you need to awaken this part of you. Just like your actual, real life house, you'll feel much better when all the clutter in your life is straightened out... and you allow yourself to have a good time.

Dawn Replies: Wow. I cannot believe how accurate your analysis is. I just divorced a very controlling man who I started dating when I was 15. I'm 37 now and feel like I've missed out on so much, most importantly, my teenage years. I was never allowed to experience many of the things most girls at that age experience. I am trying, to find myself, find new friends and basically start all over again, but with a new outlook.
