Vineyard Information:
Trinchero Family Cabernet features fruit from our estate and contact vineyards in some of California's top growing regions for Cabernet. In 2003, the foundation for the blend was from Lake County (62%), rounded out with Napa (23%) and Santa Barbara (15%) fruit.
Winemaking:
Our 2004 Cab was fermented using the rack-and-return method (Delestage) favored by many top Bordeaux chateaux. This helps to develop deeper color and greater flavor extraction. After a 14-day maceration, the wine was transferred to a combination of American (60%), French (36%) and Hungarian (4%) oak barrels. The final blend features grapes from our estate vineyard in Middletown and two sites in Red Hills, Beckstoffer’sAmber Knolls Vineyard and the Snow Lake Vineyard.
Winemaker Notes:
For the past few vintages grapes from Lake County have played an important role in our Trinchero Family Cabernet Sauvignon. Each year, these lots have stood out for their character, color, depth of flavor and balance. In 2004, the quality was so high that we made the inevitable decision to designate the bottling as Lake County appellation. Deep, dense and ripe with plums, dried herbs and red earth, it delivers the warm fruit andbroad mouth feel typical of Lake County Cabernet.

Sauvignon Blanc 2005
Vinyard Information:

Vineyard Information:
Our 2005 Family Sauvignon Blanc comes entirely from our 525-acre Los Alamos estate vineyard in the rolling costal hills of central Santa Barbara County. This cool, maritime-influenced site was tailor-made for Sauvignon Blanc.
Winemaking:
All of the juice (free run only) was cold-fermented, aged in stainless steel tanks and bottled early to preserve freshness, varietal accuracy and racy acidity. A small addition of Semillion(10.5%) brings a slight nuttiness to the nose and richness to the palate.
Winemaker Notes:
While the 2005 vintage opened with spring rains, it closed with warm days and cool nights –the kind of fall weather Santa Barbara County is famous for. This wine combines both the grassy and melon-like flavors indigenous to the Sauvignon Blanc variety. It is bright, aggressive and remarkably refreshing.
