Dear Mattress Discounters Dream Zone,
Many of my dreams are in the past. I have been in the civil war and war with Germany. I always recall in the dream I can see the gun fire, death and I am always running & running. I don't know why I run or who or what is chasing me. I always wake up exhausted from the running.

Dreaming of the past doesn't necessarily mean you are seeing a past life, rather your dream is commenting on something from YOUR past. The settings of your dreams are always a war. What sort of battle is in your past? Anything from childhood? A messy divorce perhaps?
Whatever the case, it is something you are continually "running from" or avoiding dealing with in waking life... and that is why you keep dreaming the same sort of thing over and over again. Your dreams can not move forward until you move forward. Clearly there is something painful from your past that you are avoiding rather than confronting and working through it.
All our experiences become a part of who we are... so it is best to learn how to make negative experiences a positive force within us. When you get help with this, your dreams will stop or change. Good luck!

I think this goes back to my first health issues. I have had 20 surgeries. 10 lower back, artificial hip (7) and the rest different things. I believe my war dreams started when I had one of my many hip surgeries, I freaked out and literally ran out of the hospital, put my clothes and just left. I think there is this horrible smell in hospitals and I just ran.... whenever I need another surgery I freak and want to run. Had back surgery in January, again.......called cancelled surgery, called hotel (surgery was in NY) cancelled. Within the same day, I got a calming phone from my surgeon and we re-booked the surgery. I am tired of running.....I face my health issues straight on.
